Configuration troubleshooter
If you're here, the system powers OK, but a desired function is not being displayed.
This is caused by a missing interface which prevents the function from being calculated.
Most functions depend on 3 inputs:
- Boatspeed is needed for true wind, log, polars, DR and other things.
- Apparent wind is needed for true wind, and to switch boatspeed transducers (if you have 2 boatspeed transducers).
- Heading is needed for wind direction and DR.
Test each of these by putting the appropriate function in a display.
'Working' in this context means any number shows up.
- Is boatspeed working? No.
- Is Apparent wind angle working? No.
- Is heading working? No.
No boatspeed
Find the boatspeed interface. It can be either the 015 "Boatspeed" (black box)
or the T2 "Multiplex" (grey box) interface.
Return the interface for service.
No apparent wind
Find the wind interface. It can be either the 022 "Masthead" (black box)
or the T2 "Multiplex" (grey box) interface.
Return the interface for service.
No heading
Find the heading interface. It can be one of the following:
Find the compass sensor and trace the wiring to the interface.
If the interface is an 033 or T2:
If the sensor is connected to the T1 processor:
- Is the NMEA input light flashing? If not:
- Determine that power is being delivered to the sensor.
